Box Score SWEET BRIAR, Va. - Five school records were tied or broken as Hood College picked up a resounding 10-0 win at Sweet Briar in non-conference field hockey action.
Lili Wysiekierski tied Blazer records with four goals and eight points in the game. The freshman eclipsed the old marks of four goals and eight points set by both Brandy Noel and Morgan Cole.
Kate Sigman tied the school record with two assists in the game as Hood had a team record of seven on the afternoon. The combination of 10 goals, third most in team history, and seven assists gave the Blazers a new single game mark with 27 points.
Barrick and Amspacher each had a goal and an assist, while Naomi Garcia and Ashley Griffin added assists. Rylie Benoit-Nobis scored twice.
Not to get lost in offensive numbers, Hood's defense shut out the Vixens and held the home team without a shot in the contest.
For goalie Hailey Poisal, it was her second shutout of the season.
Wysiekierski scored four times in the first 18:06 as the Blazers built a 5-0 lead, thanks to Allison Mori's first career goal.
Sigman assisted on tallies by Rylie Benoit-Nobis and Shelby Amspacher before the half ended and ALonna Soward also scored for an 8-0 lead at the break.
Wysiekierski scored in the 53rd minute before Jayden Barrick took an assist from Denisha Robinson for the 10th and final goal of the day.
Emily Dodson made 11 saves for Sweet Briar and Kierstan Mullins added a defensive save.
Hood hosts Roanoke on September 20 at 4 p.m.
