CHESTER, Pa. - The Hood College field hockey team traveled to Widener University for a matchup with the Pride in a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth contest that resulted in a 3-1 loss for Hood.Â

How It HappenedÂ
- The Blazers got on the board 5:33 into the first quarter after being awarded a penalty corner. Dean secured the rebound on the initial shot by Kate Haufe (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) then found Baxley who scored in the scramble in front of the goal to take the early 1-0 lead. Â
- The Pride answered the Baxley goal with its first penalty stroke goal of the game by Katie Labezius in the game's 8th minute to tie the game 1-1. Â
- The second quarter saw no goals by either team but Widener held the 6-0 advantage in shots over Hood while Brown made five saves to keep the game knotted at one apiece.Â
- Widener scored twice coming out of the halftime break as Labezius capped off her hat trick with two more penalty stroke goals within three minutes of each other to secure the 3-1 win in the game's 36th minute. Â
