WINCHESTER, Va. - The Hood College men's lacrosse team traveled to Shenandoah University for a midweek matchup resulting in a 21-5 loss against the Hornets.

How It Happened
- The Hornets attack scored early and often in the first quarter going on a six-goal run with three goals from Matt Daniel and one goal from Jay Baker, Logan Clingerman and Chris Baker each with 7:17 remaining in the quarter.
- The Blazers ended the scoring drought with unassisted goals by Wiley and Lanigan within 12 seconds of each other to cut the lead 6-2 with 4:00 minutes remaining in the first.
- Shenandoah went on a second six-goal run over the span of the final 20 seconds of the first quarter to 8:40 minutes remaining in the third quarter. Chris Baker led the Hornets run with two goals while Jay Baker, Brock DiMauro, Tyler Held and Max Myers all scored once to make the score 12-2.
- Muldoon ended the Shenandoah run with a fast-break goal with 7:09 remaining in the third after Hayek picked up a ground ball in the defensive end to get the Blazer offense started. Shenandoah remained ahead of the Blazers 12-3.
- A minute after the Muldoon tally, Zachary Heiderman and Held both scored for the Hornets to go up 11 over the Blazers, 13-4 with 3:37 minutes remaining in the third.
- After a failed clear attempt by the Hornets, McDermott found Gallagher for the Blazers fourth goal of the game with 2:15 on the clock to cut the lead back to ten, 14-4.
- Held netted his third of the game with 59 seconds left in the third to make the score 15-4 going into the final quarter.
- Clingerman, Heiderman and Held all netted once to push the score to 18-4 over the Blazers with 12:16 left in the game.
- Lanigan scored his second of the game on a man-up opportunity off an assist by McDermott. This tally was the final goal for the Blazers, the Hornets led 18-5 with 11:01 remaining.
- Taylor Wright, Heiderman and McDaniel rounded out the games scoring to secure the 21-5 victory over the Blazers.

- Tyler Held led the Hornets with seven points on four goals and three assists.
- Matt McDaniel netted four goals and picked up four ground balls.
- Jay Baker picked up a team-high six ground balls and one caused turnover for the Hornets.
- Robert Harvey led the defense caused three turnovers and picked up five ground balls.
- In the faceoff circle, Austin Galler went 10-18 against the Blazers and picked up three ground balls.
- Two goalies saw time in the crease for the Hornets. Mark Isabelle saw 47:44 minutes and recorded eight saves while Isaac Graves saw 12:16 minutes.
