PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Hood College men's lacrosse team downed the Chatham Cougars 19-9 in the midweek matchup in Pittsburgh to earn their fourth win of the season.

How It Happened
- Chatham earned the early 2-0 lead with tallies from Justin Cook and Nicholas Guaglione with 9:53 left in the first.
- Muldoon answered the two-goals by Chatham with his first of the day at 9:29 to bring cut the Cougar lead to 2-1. Muldoon's goal was answered with another two-goal run by Chatham with strikes from Adam Bleess and Andrew Mattingly to extend the lead to 4-1 with 6:41 remaining in the first quarter.
- The Blazers went on a three-goal run with tallies from Kyle Scott, Wiley and Muldoon's second of the day with 3:15 remaining in the first quarter to tie the game at four apiece.
- Kyle Rullan and Bleess extended the Chatham lead to two with 1:18 left in the first to take the 6-4 lead. Garrett Hitchens ended the scoring frenzy of the first quarter with a goal with 1:03 remaining in the first quarter.
- Entering the second quarter, the Blazers went on their second three-goal run of the game. Wiley netted his second of the day off an assist by Gilsdorf with 13:21 remaining to tie the game at six apiece. Gallagher then got his name in the scoring column when he scored off a pass from Jay Lanigan with 12:07 remaining to give the Blazers the 7-6 lead.
- A little bit over three minutes after the Gallagher goal, Gilsdorf scored with 9:43 left in the second half to take the two-goal lead 8-6 over the Cougars.
- Chatham answered Hood's three-goal run with a strike by Guaglione to bring the game back within one 8-7 in favor of the Blazers with 7:21 remaining in the second quarter.
- The Blazers scored two goals to take the 9-7 lead going into the halftime break as Wiley completed the hat trick with a tally at 3:18 extend the lead to 9-7.
- Gallagher rounded out the first half scoring with his second of the day off an assist by Owen McDermott with 14 seconds remaining to secure the 10-7 lead going into the second half.
- Coming out of halftime, the Cougars tallied the first goal of the second half which brought the score within two as Bleess scored his third goal of the game with 13:58 left on the clock.
- After the Bleess goal, the Blazers went on another three-goal run with Muldoon having a say in two of the three goals. Muldoon answered the Bleess goal with 12:29 left in the third then Aden Sievert scored off a Muldoon pass with 11:27 on the clock to take the 12-8 lead.
- McKendry rounded out Hood's three-goal run with a strike with 3:21 remaining in the third quarter off an assist by Wiley to take the five-goal lead 13-8 over the Cougars. Patrick Brunner scored Chatham's first goal since the beginning of the third quarter with 37 seconds remaining to cut the Blazer lead to 13-9 going in the final quarter.
- The Blazers held Chatham scoreless in the fourth quarter. The Blazers first two goals were from Muldoon and Wiley as both net their fourth goal of the game to extend the lead to 15-9 with 9:37 remaining in the game.
- Gallagher score the next two as he netted an assisted tally from Muldoon and an unassisted strike to join Muldoon and Wiley with four goals against the Cougars to make the score 17-9 in favor of the Blazers with 7:30 left on the clock. Â
- Gilsdorf and McKendry both scored their second goal of the game to extend the Blazer lead to ten. The Gilsdorf tally came at 4:28 then the McKendry goal that was assisted by Adam Weintraub was scored with 3:19 left in the game to secure the 19-9 victory over the Cougars.

- Adam Bleess scored three goals and picked up two ground balls for Chatham.
- Nicholas Guaglione scored twice and picked up a team-high four ground balls.Â

- Logan Blankenship led the defense with two caused turnovers.Â
- Zen Smith recorded 15 saves in goal for the Cougars.
