CHESTER, Pa. - The third quarter four-goal run by Widener was too much for the Hood College men's lacrosse team as they drop their second-straight Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth game 9-7 to the Pride.

How It Happened
- Scott got the games scoring started early when he found the back of the net 22 seconds into the first half to earn the early 1-0 lead for Hood.
- Widener answered Scott's goal with back-to-back goals with strikes by Connor Heisman and Jayce Dyer to give the Pride a 2-1 lead with 10:31 left in the first quarter.
- Gilsdorf halted the Pride run off an assist by Muldoon with 7:13 remaining to tie the score at 2-2.
- Heisman scored his second of the game on a man-up goal off an assist by Jimmy Knepp, then Nick DiCicco found the back of the net to round out the first quarter scoring to take the 4-2 lead going into the second quarter.
- The Blazers held Widener scoreless in the second quarter and took the 5-3 lead to go into halftime. Muldoon started the run with a tally off an assist by Colby Gallagher on a man-up opportunity to bring the game within one with 14:37 left on the clock.
- Wiley got his name in the scoring column when he scored off a Gilsdorf pass to tie the game 4-4 with 9:28 left in the first half. Lanigan scored after taking his defender one-on-one from behind the goal with 8:35 left on the clock to give the Blazers the 5-4 lead going into the second half.
- Widener made up for lost time in the second quarter with a four-goal run during the third quarter. The Pride tied the game at five with 12:14 on the clock as Zach Politarhos scored off a DiCicco pass. Aegean Cuylan gave Widener the lead 6-5 with his strike off an assist from Heisman with 8:43 remaining.
- After the Cuylan goal, Adam Oldrati scored off the faceoff to push the lead to 7-5 over the Blazers with 8:35 left in the third. Angus Ballentine secured the 8-5 lead to go into the fourth quarter on an unassisted tally at 8:04 on the clock.
- Wiley scored the final Blazer goals of the game after back-to-back goals. The first coming 52 seconds into the fourth quarter to make the score 8-7 and then the second off a Hitchens assist with 5:06 left in the game to bring Hood within one 8-7.
- Widener extended the lead back to 9-7 with a DiCicco's second of the day with 3:02 remaining to secure the 9-7 victory over Hood.
For the Opponent
- Kyle Pollick and Nick DiCicco both netted two goals each for Widener.
- Five players scored once for the Pride.
- Adam Oldrati and Angus Ballentine both picked up a team-high four ground balls. Oldrati also went 8-18 in the faceoff circle.
- Four Widener players caused two turnovers each.
- Keegan Billie recorded nine saves and played all 60 minutes in goal.
