FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's lacrosse team hosted the No. 17 Stevenson University Mustangs in a midweek Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth matchup that resulted in a 24-7 loss for Hood.

How It Happened
- The Blazers scored the first goal of the game as Alston took a shot from the 50-yard line on an empty Stevenson net to earn the 1-0 lead with 13:41 on the clock.
- Josh Brannan and Mitchell Lachman scored one apiece to take the 2-1 lead over Hood with 8:32 left in the first quarter.
- Gallagher tied the game at two with a behind-the-back goal off an assist by Hand with 6:50 remaining, then Hand netted one of his own off a Wiley pass to give the Blazers a 3-2 leae with 6:32 left.
- Stevenson answered the back-to-back goals with a ten-goal run. Leading the run was Lachman with three goals. Nolan Enneguess and Brannan tallied two times each while Shane Ford, Lucas Ingley and Cam Leydig scored once to give the Mustangs the 11-3 lead with 9:28 left in the second.
- Hand rounded out the first half scoring when netted his second of the day to end the ten-goal run to make the score 11-4 going into the second half.
- Wiley opened the third quarter with an unassisted goal 33 seconds into the third at 14:27 on the clock but the Mustangs still lead 11-5.
- Enneguess and Lachman scored twice in a row for Stevenson to push the score to 13-5 with 10:44 left in the third.
- Hood answered the Stevenson goal with two of their own as Gallagher scored off a pass from Rio Muldoon and Lanigan ran past two defenders to score an unassisted goal to make the score 13-7 with 8:13 left in the third.
- Stevenson ended the third quarter with two goals from Lachman and Brannan to extend the lead to 15-7 going into the fourth quarter.
- Stevenson scored nine goals of the fourth quarter with one goal from Ed Masterson, Matt Wilson, Andrew Searing, Matthew Schell, Matt Byron, Leydig, Ingley, Ford and Brannan each to secure the 24-7 victory over Hood.
For the Opponent
- Mitchell Lachman and Josh Brannan scored five goals each for Stevenson.
- Nolan Enneguess added three goals while Cam Leydig, Shane Ford and Lucas Ingley added two apiece.
- Enneguess also added 10 ground balls and went 11-19 in the faceoff circle. Daniel Fisher went 10-14 in faceoff wins and won seven ground balls.
- Matthew Schell recorded a team-high four caused turnovers for the defense.
- Marc Poust played all 60 minutes and recorded nine saves and two ground balls.
Analysis
- Stevenson shot 80 times compared to Hood's 29 shots.
- Hood went 17-29 in clear attempts while Stevenson went 18-21.
- The Mustangs picked up 56 ground balls to Hood's 36.
