ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - The Hood College men's golf team finished seventh at the Battle of the Burg, hosted by Gettysburg College at Hanover Country Club, with a 36-hole school record of 631.
On the Scorecards
- All five of Hood's scoring team shot better on day two.
- For the third straight round this fall, Tanner Leonard (Berlin, MD/Stephen Decatur) and Sam Driscoll (Woodsboro, MD/Walkersville) shot the same score. The duo shot second round 77s and finished with identical scores of 155. They tied for 17th and were each one stroke away from the school record of 154 (Andy Baker).
- Patrick Gogarty (Dagsboro, DE/Indian River) shot his collegiate best round of 76 in the second round, finishing with a 157 and tying for 22nd.
- Brady Leonard (Berlin, MD/Stephen Decatur) and Will Kujawa (Fredericksburg, MD/Massaponax) both scored 81s in the final round. Leonard's 164 was 34th, while Kujawa tied for 35th at 165.
- Rowan Foose (Arlington, VA/Yorktown), playing as an individual, shot an 84 on the final day and ended the tournament with a 161, good for a tie for 28th.
Leaderboards
- Gettysburg defended its home course behind the efforts of the tournament's top two finishers. Daniel Suter and Corey Haydu both finished at 146, with Suter winning a playoff. The two helped the Bullets to a 36-hole 597 for the win.
- Hood's 631, a new school record, was seventh.
Notes
- The 631 was five strokes better than the previous record from last season's Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Championships.
