How it Happened

- Hood's extra-man unit came through as Muldoon found Wiley twice in the next 47 seconds to tie the game, sending the teams to overtime.
- Hitchens won the opening faceoff in overtime and Hood called timeout. Once play resumed, Seivert fed McDermott for the game-winner.
- In the first quarter, Muldoon had two assists before scoring with 44 seconds left to put Hood in front 3-2 after the opening 15 minutes.
- Seivert and Green traded man-up goals midway through the second period to keep Hood's advantage at 4-3. Goals by Gilsdorf and Wiley in the last 5:21 canceled out Shenandoah goals by Taylor Wright and Tyler Held as the Blazers carried a 6-5 edge into the break.
- A four-goal third quarter, including score by Held with three seconds left tied the match at 9-9 after three quarters.
- Logan Clingerman scored twice to open the final quarter before Sievert took a pass to cut the deficit to 11:10 with 6:47 left, setting up the dramatic finish.
