VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - After finding themselves in an early 2-0 hole, the Hood College men's lacrosse team scored final eight goals of the first half and went on to win 14-4 over Methodist at the Virginia Beach Sports Plex.

How it Happened
- The Blazers were blanked for over 10 minutes to start the game, while the Monarchs jumped ahead 2-0 behind goals by Hunter Vaughan and Ryan Kavounis.Â
- McDermott fed Seavey with 4:51 to get Hood on the board but the Blazers trailed 2-1 at the end of the first.Â
- McDermott assisted on two of the first three goals to open the second, both scored by Sievert. Seavey and Sievert both scored twice in the quarter as Hood outscored the Monarchs 7-0 in the period. The Blazer defense stood on its head in the second, limiting Methodist to just one shot as Hood claimed an 8-2 lead.Â
- After Methodist cut Hood's lead to five with the first goal of the third quarter, six different Blazers scored over a span over over 24:30. The run eliminated any doubt and included the first career scores by Thomas Ciraulo (Old Bethpage, N.Y./Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK) and Chuck Baynum (Salem, Va./Blue Ridge).
