FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College's
Kate Haufe (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) smashed a cross from
Abby Chiavetta (San Jose, Calif./Leland) into the back of the cage in overtime as the Blazers won their fourth straight with a 2-1 final over visiting Roanoke in non-confernce field hockey.

Bella Butler (Hamilton, Va./Loudoun Valley).
Richana Brown (Dover, Del./Dover) went the distance in goal, making one save.
Natalie Badour (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) and
Bailey Oberholtzer (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) had defensive saves.
How it Happened
After a scoreless first half, the Maroons struck first with a goal by Hope Keller in the 38th minute off of a scrum in front of the goal.
The Blazer defense turned up the heat after the goal, holding Roanoke without a shot over the final 25 minutes.
Less than three minutes into the fourth quarter, Butler sent a corner to the stick of Moreno, who sent a hard shot straight into the boards to tie the game.
In overtime, Chiavetta had the ball outside the circle and sent in a hard cross. Haufe was there waiting and deposited it into the goal for the game winner in the 64th minute.
Analysis
Roanoke outshot Hood 8-7 despite the Blazers lockdown defense in the second half. Hood had a 7-4 edge in penalty corners.

Madison Wingerter made two saves in cage.
Notes
Hood improved to 4-2 on the year, while Roanoke dropped to 2-2.
