FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College field hockey team opened its 2023 season with a 2-1 overtime loss to visiting Randolph-Macon College.

How It Happened
The Blazers found themselves in a 1-0 deficit with 22 seconds remaining in the second period after Alaina McCoy scored for Randolph-Macon.
Oberholtzer found the back of the cage to tie the game in the second minute of the fourth to wrap up the game's regulation scoring.
With 4:41 left in the fourth period, the Yellow Jackets were awarded back-to-back penalty strokes, but
Richana Brown (Dover, Del./Dover) stopped both to keep the score knotted at 1-1.
In the final minute of regulation, Randolph-Macon would take three more shots, but Brown denied the Yellow Jackets goal attempts.
During overtime, Courtney Moodie scored for Randolph-Macon concluding the game three minutes into extra time.
