READING, Pa. – The Hood College women's basketball team battled but could not come up with a win, as the Blazers fell 68-55 against Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth foe Albright College.

Chanelle Lee (Brunswick, Md./Saint John's Catholic Prep) led Hood in scoring with 15 points and three assists.
Amari Faust (Burke, VA/Lake Braddock) was second in scoring for the Blazers with 12 points and one assists.
Tiffany Manning (Randallstown, Md./Western Tech) came down with 10 rebounds on the evening.
How it Happened
The Lions started the game out firing early gaining a lead over the Blazers. In the final minute of the first Lee made two good jumpshots, followed up by two made freethrows by Manning to keep Hood in the game.
To begin the second both teams struggled offensively for the first three minutes until Faust cut the Lions lead to just five after making a jumpshot in the paint. Both teams would trade baskets back and fourth.
Sami Betley (Bel Air, Md./Mercy) knocked down two layups to close out scoring for the Blazers in the first half.
In the third the Lions would begin to pull away early until
Nikki Etchison (Ijamsville, MD/Oakdale) made a good jumper of her own to bring the Blazers back in the box score. To end the quarter Manning made two good foul shots to cut Albrights lead to 12.
The final quarter began with two Blazers (Etchinson and Lee) scoring early. In the final minute Faust made a layup in the last thirty seconds to close out the games scoring 68-55 in favor of Albright.
For the Opponent
Julia Zakovitch finished with a team-leading 17 points, grabbing eight rebounds as well.
Mackenzie Dover ended the evening with 12 points.
Analysis
Albright shot 46.4 percent from the field, compared to 34.3 percent from Hood.
The Lions' bench outscored the Blazers 19-16.
Notes
"We didn't play a complete game tonight. We are still learning what it takes to win on the road." said head coach DéRonté Polite.
The Blazers drop to 1-11 overall, 0-2 in conference, with the Pride improving to 4-10 overall, 1-2 in conference.
