How it Happened
A quiet first quarter ended with a shot by
Madeline Moreno (Mansfield, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) from the farthest arc squeaking through the entire Golden Wolves defense to put the Blazers up early.
Moving to the second quarter where the Blazers had trouble clearing the ball from the front of their goal resulting in the equalizer.
Minutes later, on a quick restart from Alvernia turned into a steal by
Kate Bentz (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) who quickly dished it to Scally who sent a screamer past the goalie to retake the lead.
With six minutes left in the third, a penalty corner shot caught a bad bounce and made it past the Blazer keeper in the net for another tie.
The Blazer pressure continued with a shot and rebound by
Emma Numme (Shrub Oak, NY/Lakeland) but her efforts weren't denied as she found D'Agostino for her first goal of the season to take the lead into the fourth.
The fourth quarter saw a Hood lead diminish and the deficit appear in a flash with two goals with a minute and a half.
