No nets harmed as women’s soccer battle Bullets

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Hood College women's soccer team could not find the back of the net against Gettysburg College, playing to a 0-0 draw on the road in non-conference play.

Inside the Box Score
Brenna Ellenberger (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) made six saves in the tie.

How it Happened
Gettysburg got the first sustained pressure of the game, as Hood was unable to properly clear a corner kick before facing a shot, but Ellenberger was up to task right away to make the save.

The Blazers did not take long to get shots of their own up and towards the goal, but the Bullets' keeper was able to stop them from hitting the back of the net. After both teams continued to battle for possession and exchanged shots, the first half ended with zeroes across the board.

Coming out of the break, Gettysburg seemed to find their stride, peppering shots and forcing Ellenberger to make saves for several minutes on end, but the senior was unwavering, turning away everything that came close to continue holding onto the scoreless tie.

With time winding down, Hood's offense woke up and managed to keep the ball in the other team's half of the field, getting multiple chances with less than five minutes to play. Unfortunately, nothing was able to cross the goal line, and with one last shot with 10 seconds left getting blocked away, the horn sounded to close out yet another 0-0 draw for the Blazers.

For the Opponent
Alex Jurrow grabbed five saves.

Analysis
Gettysburg outshot Hood 15-9.

The Bullets had six corner kicks, as opposed to just two for the Blazers.
