WINCHESTER, Va. - The Hood College men's lacrosse dropped a close contest against nonconference opponent Shenandoah University 11-10.

How It Happened
- Shenandoah started the game by scoring early with a goal from Dylan Foughty. Just five minutes later the Blazers responded with a goal from Lanigan off an assist by Owen McDermott (Wernersville, Pa./Conrad Weiser). Then two minutes and thirty seconds later with 7:33 on the clock Hood went up 2-1 over Shenandoah. Then with 4:08 left in the first quarter, the Hornets leveled out the scoring due to a goal by Dylan Taylor. Heading into the second with just six seconds left Muldoon found the back of the net giving Hood the lead 3-2.
- Starting the second the Hornets regained the lead with two goals in the first two minutes of the quarter. Another lead change was then caused by Robbie Wiley (York, Pa./Central York) as he netted two back-to-back goals one at 7:26 and the other at 1:53. This quarter went through three lead changes as Shenandoah managed to gain the lead for a second time after two won faceoffs by Austin Galler that led to goals. Then with just 11 seconds to go until halftime McDermott leveled out the scoring going into the second half.
- In the first five minutes of the third both teams proved to have sturdy defensive plays until Hood was marked down for a penalty, which the Hornets then capitalized on gaining the lead off a Matt Daniel Man-Up goal. The Shenandoah lead would not last for long as the Blazers made two goals back to back regaining the lead once again. Then with eight seconds left to go in the third quarter the Hornets put together a scoring play giving Logan Clingerman off an assist by Graham.
- In the final quarter of play the Hornets knocked down three consecutive goals giving them a three-goal cushion with 11-8 goals scored with 8:10 left on the game clock. Hood would begin its comeback bid scoring two goals to put the Blazers within one point of the Hornets. At 2:28 Muldoon scored off an assist from Lanigan, and then at 1:12 Flok brought Hood within one off an unassisted goal. Despite the Blazers' quick offensive response, the Hornets came out victorious with a final core of 11-10 in favor of Shenandoah.
