FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College men's lacrosse team fell at Home to Goucher College in close contest 9-8.

How it Happened
- The Blazers went up early picking up a four goal lead early in the first quarter. Fay got the ball rolling for the Hood scoring off an assist by Wiley. A minute later at 10:35 Wiley scored a goal of his own this time off a Muldoon assist taking advantage of one of two extra man opportunities. Then late in the quarter at 2:42 McDermott found the back of the net earning his points off an assist by Flok. The Blazers' wasted little to no time to score their next goal as Muldoon scored the fourth straight goal for Hood following a faceoff win by Emanuel Granados (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson). Then with 1:24 to go in the quarter Goucher's Jacob Morgan put the Gophers on the board making it a 4-1 ballgame going into the second.
- Hood started the second quarter similar to the first scoring early with a goal by Lanigan just a minute in. The Gopher's managed to respond with two goals of their own getting within two goals of the Blazers with a score of 3-5. At 8:21 Wiley picked up his second goal of the day. Goucher showed hopes of a comeback bid scoring once more before halftime making it a one goal game where the scoreboard read 6-5 in favor of the Blazers.
- In the third quarter of play the Blazers got on the board first with Wiley's third goal of the game at 11:20. The Gophers then responded with three quick offensive sets scoring three goals back-to-back to put them in the lead going into the fourth 8-7.
- In the last quarter of play both teams showed defensive consistensies not allowing for the other to score until at 5:32 Tyler May found the back of the net for the Gophers putting them up 9-7. A minute and a half later Flok struck back with a goal of his own off an McDermott assist to bring Hood within one setting up for a Blazer comeback. With good shots on goal in the final possesion Hood was unable to even out the scoring as the Blazers fell 9-8 to the Gophers.
