How it Happened

In the first quarter Lanigan opened up the scoring for the game finding the back of the net at 11:22. The Cougars responded going on a three goal scoring run capitalizing on one extra man opportinty as the scoreboard read 3-1 in favor of Chatham going into the second.

Both teams had a slow start for scoring in the first ten minutes of the quarter. Then Jacob Lubawy scored for Chatham with 4:40 seconds left in the first half. Just two minutes later Wiley got on the board cutting the Cougars lead to just two. Before half time Chatham's Isaac Joshi scored with 11 seconds left on the clock giving the Cougars a 5-2 lead heading into the second half.

The third quarter began with a Muldoon strike in the first minute. Then Flok made two back-to-back goals evening out the score at 5 with 5 minutes left on the scoreboard. At 2:43 Chatham scored but Muldoon struck back with another goal tying up the score at six heading into the final quarter of play.

In the fourth, McDermott gave the Blazers their first lead of the game taking advantage of an extra man opportunity. The Cougars responded with a play very similar when Ethan Rinker scored a man-up goal tying the score once again at 7. Then with just 1:15 left on the clock Chatham scored once again. Hood would win the following faceoff and get a chance to even up the scoreing but time would not be friendly to the Blazers as The Cougars managed to steal a 8-7 victory.
