FREDERICK, Md. – The Hood College men's lacrosse fell behind early and could not find their footing against Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth opponent Stevenson, as the Blazers fell 28-5 in the first warm-weather game of the season.
Inside the Box Score
Connor Flok (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus),
Rio Muldoon (Prince Frederick, Md./DeMatha Catholic),
Jay Lanigan (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack),
John Sanick (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville), and
James Fay (Howell, N.J./Howell) all scored a goal.
How it Happened
Stevenson took just under three minutes to get on the board, and used that opening goal to solidify control quickly, scoring 11 more to put Hood in a 12-0 hole after just 15 minutes of play.
The Mustangs picked up where they left off in the second, adding to their lead less than two minutes in. A Muldoon strike would get the Blazers on the board, but four more Stevenson goals would occur before Hood got on the board again. More tallies for the visiting team, including two in 30 seconds, gave the Mustangs a 20-2 lead at halftime.
A goal from Flok was the Blazers' only tally in the third, as Stevenson put up seven more to head into the final frame with a 27-3 advantage over Hood.
Statistically, the fourth quarter was the best one for the Blazers, as the Mustangs only added one more to their total while the home team put up two thanks to Lanigan and Fay. Unfortunately, factoring in the other 45 minutes of game time put the final score at 28-5 in favor of Stevenson.
For the Opponent
