BALTIMORE, Md. –
Emma Massey (Felton, Del./Lake Forest) scores a pair of fourth quarter goals to lift Hood past Goucher for the third year straight Tuesday night with a score of 2-0.
Inside the Box Score
Emma Massey (Felton, Del./Lake Forest) had two goals on five shots. Her five goals on the season tie a record for goals as first-year student in program history.
Morgan Hackett (Hampstead, Md./Hereford) assisted on a goal.
Madeline Moreno (Mansfield, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) both had a defensive save.
How it Happened
Goucher looked to score early and play defense to defeat the Blazers, but
Richana Brown (Dover, Del./Dover) racked up four of her six saves in the first 18 minutes to gridlock the game.
Even with more than half of the Gopher's shots on goal in the first half, both squads were left scoreless as they headed to the locker room for halftime.
As both defenses thought they were going to go full time without a score, Massey started the fourth quarter with a feed from Hackett that ended up in the back of the net to break the scoring drought.
Later, Moreno put back-to-back shots up saved by the opposing goalkeeper before Massey struck again to extend the lead 2-0.
