Men's Basketball ranked second in MAC Commonwealth Preseason Poll

NEWTOWN, Pa. – Men's basketball was ranked second in the 2025-26 conference preseason poll conducted among the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth (MAC Commonwealth) men's basketball coaches. The Blazers received two first-place votes for 41 points.
 
The squad is coming off a 16-10 season that included wins over No.7 Randolph-Macon to take the Rotary Club of Frederick Tip-Off Tournament, the Battle of D.C & Maryland trophy and a No.3 seed in the MAC Commonwealth playoffs.
 
The Alvernia Golden Wolves were selected as the favorite in the 2025-26 conference preseason poll as they received three of the first-place votes for 42 points.

Hood led the conference in scoring last year with 88 points per game while rebounding at the top of the list especially on the offensive end. Garrett Cox (Glen Allen, VA/Glen Allen) and Jevon Yarbrough (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport) return to continue their scoring dominance while the #letitfly beyond the arc shooters Troy Fulton (Denver, N.C./Lincoln Charter) and Karron Mallory (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) look to make their mark again.

The 2025-26 season is slated to begin Friday Nov. 7 with conference play starting Wednesday Jan. 7.

Hood opens up with an exhibition with Mount St. Mary's visiting Woodsboro Bank Arena on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. and then will open the regular season with the Rotary Club of Frederick Tip-Off Tournament on November 7th and 8th all hosted on Hood College's campus.

The 2026 MAC Commonwealth Men's Basketball Championship is set for Feb. 25 through Feb. 28. The top-four seeds will battle for the conference title and the NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier (AQ).
