PREVIEW
The Blazers haven't slashed the statistical records for the most part, their rise to their third 10-win in program history has been a tribute to their complimentary play. Thirteen difference players have hit the back of the net while six have marked multiple assists including team leading
Cristian Topovich (Frederick, Md./Oakdale) with eight.
Terrell Funchess (Taneytown, Md./Henry E. Lackey) and
Jonathan Fuentes (Hagerstown, Md./Oakdale) provided some late magic two game-winning goals apiece with the likes of
Jackson Quenzer (Westminster, Md./Gerstell Academy),
Lucas Godfroy (Adamstown, Md./Urbana), the Portillos and company holding up the back line of defense.
Adam Labows (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) in his first year broke the single season shutout record for the program and ranks second in the conference in goals against average and save percentage.
The Falcons keeper Kessler Forrest leads the MAC in shutouts but has had to make the least amount of saves in the conference due to the defenders of Messiah. The Falcons have three players in the Top 10 of shot takers in the conference while they land in the Top 10 in shots on goal as well.
The teams played just a few days prior, a game that didn't mean much for both squads with things in the standings settled out but Messiah showed dominance in the 7-1 win.
