How it Happened
- In the opening four minutes of the game Lubrano found the back of the net after receiving a pass from Isaic Nafziger to give the Blazers the first goal of many. In response to Hood's goal the Gophers' very own Jacob Morgan scored to tie things up at 1. The Blazers then went on a three-goal run courtesy of James Fay (Howell, N.J./Howell), Lubrano and Aden Sievert (Littleton, Colo./Columbine). With time running out in the first quarter the Gophers managed to knock back another goal this time by Milan Temple to cut Hood's led to 2. At the end of the first the Blazers led 4-2.
- Hopping into the second quarter it would be all Hood as the Blazers set up for a second three-point run. The first goal was scored by Muldoon just thirty seconds into the quarter as he picked up his first goal of the day. Next Lubrano found the back of the net for his second on the day quickly followed by a strike by Wiley who gave the Blazers a five-point lead over the Gophers. With both teams showing strong defensive prowess later down the stretch the score remained 7-2 in favor of Hood heading into the second half.
- The third quarter was even better than the second for Hood as the team looked to have a five-point scoring run. The fun all started when Muldoon scored three straight goals. Muldoon's first two were unassisted and then Alex Odenheimer (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) found a cutting Muldoon to give him his fourth goal on the night. Just a minute after Muldoon's scoring spree Wiley added another to his tally after taking advantage of an extra man opportunity. Then to close out scoring for the third quarter the Blazers executed a successful clear, capped off by a Levi Sicre (Virginia Beach, Va./Catholic) goal. His goal gave the Blazers a comfortable 12-2 lead.
- Hood's streak would not end as the Blazers knocked back two more points thanks to Jay Lanigan (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) and Wiley. With under five minutes to go in the game the Gophers added on two goals of their own, but they would be two late as this game was already decided. Then to add an extra cherry on top first year Matthew Mitcheltree (Bowie, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) found the back of the net with just twelve seconds left on the clock solidifying the major Blazer lead. As the game clock struck zero Hood was victorious with a score of 15-4.
