How it Happened
  • Two minutes into the game Aden Sievert (Littleton, Colo./Columbine) made the first goal after catching a pass from Nafziger.  Three minutes later the Colonels responded with a goal of their own after a shot from Stone Sosnovik. Before the quarter concluded Flok and Wiley added on to Hood's goal total making it 3-1 at the end of the first.
  • Going into the second, the Blazers knocked back another three goals curtesy of Flok, Lubrano and Wiley to make it a five-goal ball game. With hopes of cutting down the Blazer lead Oscar Cline managed to find the back of the net to make it 6-2.  Hood then added on two more as Wiley shot and scored his third on the day after recieving a pass from Lubrano. Then before the halftime buzzer Lubrano score another goal of his own with 16 seconds left to make it 8-2 heading into the second half.
  • The third quarter of play was all Hood as the Blazers went on a nine-goal run. Nafziger got the ball rolling in the opening two minutes. Then a minute later he assisted on Jay Lanigan's (Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) first goal on the day. Nafziger proved himself to be an assist machine this day as he then assisted on Rio Muldoon's (Prince Frederick, Md./DeMatha Catholic) goal a minute later. The next minute Lubrano netted his third goal on the day and a couple seconds later Nafziger had another leading pass to Lanigan that resulted in a goal to give the Blazers a 13-2 lead. A minute following Lanigan's goal Aiden Covington (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) joined in on the fun as he scored catching a pass from Flok. Flok then shared the wealth once more as he assisted on a Wiley goal four minutes later. A minute after Wiley's goal Latif Yacoubou Adam (Eldersburg, Md./Century) netted his first on the day after handling a pass from none other than Nafziger.  Finally, with little time remaining in the period Wiley scored his fifth after taking advantage of an extra man opportunity.
  • In the fourth and final quarter of play both teams traded goals as in the eight-minute Hosanna Nkurunziza (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) snuck one past the Wilkes goalie extended Hood's lead to 16. With just under five minutes left in regulation Wilkes managed to score the final goal of the game; however, the team's comeback bid would be too late as the Blazers won 18-3.
