WESTMINSTER, Md. - The Hood College men's lacrosse team takes down the Green Terror of McDaniel College on the road in overtime 10-9.

How it Happened
- The Blazers started out play with a promising push of four goals. Sievert stuck first just under a minute into play after taking advantage of a man-up opportunity. Latif Yacoubou Adam (Eldersburg, Md./Century) joined his teammate after a Green Terror turnover. In the eighth minute of the quarter Reagan Tesche found the back of the net after receiving a pass from Nafziger. Then to end finalize the run Gilsdorf scored a fast-break goal with three and a half minutes left to bring the Blazers up 4-0. With just over a minute left in the first McDaniel\s Jason Fritz scored his team's first of the day. To close out the quarter Robbie Wiley (York, Pa./Central York) netted his first of the day with fourteen seconds left. Heading into the second quarter Hood led 5-1.
- Starting out the second the Green Terror's own Joe Kieffer netted a goal to make it 5-2. Hood would respond as Nafziger caused a turnover and ripped the ball past the McDaniel goalie to score his first and only goal on the day. Transitioning into the second half of play the Green Terror managed to tack on two more goals to get within two of Hood. Going into the third quarter the Blazers led 6-4.
- McDaniel carried on momentum into the second half as Brock Stroud brought the team within one goal of Hood five minutes into the period. To bring Hood's lead back up Sievert found the back of the net once again after catching a pass from Wiley. Just under two minutes to go in the third McDaniel scored once again to cut the Blazers lead to just one point. As both teams prepared for the fourth quarter the scoreboard read 7-6 in favor of Hood.
- Starting out the fourth but not final quarter of play McDaniel managed to gain it's first lead of the match as Jason Fritz netted the leading goal. The Green Terror's lead did not last long though as Lanigan scored a goal for Hood a minute later. Following Lanigan's goal Gilsdorf netted his second of the day to regain Hood's lead. Then with a minute and thirty-three seconds remaining in regulation McDaniel's Aidan Skelly caught a pass from Fritz to tie things up at nine. With little time remaining the Blazers attempted to clear and score the solidify a win, but the buzzer sounded and both teams were tied at 9.
- In the opening two minutes of extra time the Blazers gained possession thanks to Strand. Hood had two good offensive looks with the likes of Wiley and Nafziger, but ultimately it would be no other than the sixth year Lanigan to score the golden goal for Hood. The Blazers were named victorious as the team won 10-9.
