ARLINGTON, Va. – Hat tricks from junior
Connor Flok (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) and senior
Robbie Wiley (York, Pa./Central York) propelled the Hood College men's lacrosse team past Marymount University, coming away with a 12-11 victory on the road.

Flok finished the day with three goals and an assist, while Wiley totaled three goals.
Aden Sievert (Littleton, Colo./Columbine) ended the afternoon with two goals and an assist.
Rio Muldoon (Prince Frederick, Md./DeMatha Catholic) scored a goal and had two helpers.
Lucas Strand (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) led the Blazers with four ground ball pickups.
Trent Leuba (New Freedom, Pa./Susquehannock) made 13 saves in the win.
How it Happened
The Blazers wasted no time opening the scoring, with Muldoon finding the back of the net on their first possession just 2:08 into the game.
Hood added two more goals as it looked to run away with the game early, but two Marymount goals in less than a minute got the home team right back into it as it cut the Blazers' lead to just 3-2 at the end of the first quarter.
Late pressure from the Saints did not carry over to the next period though, as two goals from
Aidan Gilsdorf (Frederick, Md./Gov Thomas Johnson) and Flok's first of the day put Hood back in the driver's seat and end the first half up 6-2.
Marymount took a page out of the Blazers' book on how to start halves, scoring three goals in about six minutes to put Hood back on notice and trim its lead down to just 6-5.
After starting out on the back foot, the Blazers regained their composure and answered each goal the Saints scored, with both teams adding one more tally before the end of the quarter for a net-even 15 minutes as Hood held a 10-6 advantage.
Despite Marymount scoring the first two goals of the fourth quarter, the Blazers once again responded with a pair of their own courtesy of Flok and Wiley. Although there was just 2:15 left on the clock, the Saints would not stop fighting until the buzzer sounded, netting three goals in 1:10 to make it a one-goal game with just over a minute to play.
A Hood turnover off the faceoff gave Marymount the chance to tie the game and potentially force overtime, but the Blazers' defense was able to force a turnover of their own to end the Saints' comeback and give themselves a 12-11 win as they get ready for conference play.
For the Opponent
Robert Kirkland and Gavin Taylorson both scored three goals.
Spencer Carfang picked up five ground balls and caused six turnovers.
Notes
Hood finishes non-conference action with a 7-1 record, its best since starting the season with seven straight wins in 2019.
