HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Hood College women's golf team wrapped up competition at the Cardinal Spring Classic with a sixth-place finish after two rounds on the par-72 course.
On the Scorecards
Gabi Miller (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) led Hood across both rounds, opening the tournament with a solid 88 (+16) in round one before carding a 92 (+20) on Monday with both rounds including four or more pars on the front nine. Miller finished the event at 180 (+36) and provided an 18th place finish the top of the lineup.
Mia Cheesebrough (Mendota Heights, Mn./Two Rivers/St. Paul Riveters) was right behind Miller for the Blazers, shooting an 89 (+17) in the first round and claimed the only Blue & Grey birdie on Hole 14. She followed that effort with a 97 (+25) in round two to finish with a tournament total of 186 (+42) and just inside the Top 25 at 24th.
Keira Corcoran (Queenstown, Md./Queen Anne's County) opened the Classic with a 103 (+31) on Sunday and closed with a 96 (+24) in the final round. Corcoran finished the tournament at 199 (+55).
Hayden Avery (Greenwood, Del./Woodbridge) rounded out Hood's lineup, posting a 109 (+37) in round one and a 110 (+38) in round two. Avery completed the event with a total score of 219 (+75).
On the Leaderboard
The Marymount women took the top spot by over 30 strokes to take team kudos.
Tinleigh Rusher of the Saints shot a 158 (+14) to take the top of the podium.
The Blazers posted a team score of 389 in Sunday's opening round and followed with a
395 in the final round, closing the two-day event with a total of 784 (+208).

The squad will compete next at the Berkleigh Preview for their final outing of the regular season on Wednesday, April 15 at the Berkleigh GC in Reading, Pennsylvania.
