Noonan Leads Men's Soccer Past Mt. Aloysius

CRESSON, Pa.--Junior Tom Noonan tied his own school record with three goals and freshman Shawn Fernholz made four saves for his first career shutout as the Hood College men's soccer team posted a 4-0 win over host Mt. Aloysius College Thursday afternoon.

Noonan, who recorded the first hat trick in school history in an 8-0 win over Mount Aloysius Sept. 4, 2005, gave the Blazers (2-3) a 1-0 lead when he found the net in the 25th minute off an assist from junior Marcelino Rabara.

Noonan then struck two more times in the second half, scoring off a feed from sophomore Tom Sprague in the 58th minute before adding his third goal of the game off an assist from freshman Corey DeMaster just over three minutes later.

DeMaster completed the scoring in the 74th minute off an assist from senior Ben Snyder.

Fernholz made four second-half saves to earn the shutout.

The Blazers return to action Saturday when they host Lancaster Bible College at 1 p.m.
