Box Score CRESSON, Pa.--The Hood College men's soccer team (3-1) won its first road game of the fall with a 3-1 nonconference victory over Mt. Aloysius College (1-2) Thursday afternoon.
Sophomore Eric Diehl continued his torrid pace and got the Blazers on the board in the 15th minute with an unassisted score, his fourth in as many games. Mt. Aloysius' Bashir Muhammad evened things up just before the half in the 39th minute and the two teams headed to intermission deadlocked at 1-1.
In the 70th minute, sophomore David Langan registered his first goal of the season and his third all-time versus the Mounties after notching a pair in last year's matchup. Senior Matt Williams Sharp converted a penalty kick opportunity in the 88th minute for the final margin.
Hood outshot the Mounties 14-8 and junior keeper Will Lane recorded four saves in the net for the Blazers.
Hood returns home Saturday to host the Waynesburg University Yellow Jackets in the second game of a soccer doubleheader at Thomas Athletic Field at 5 p.m.
