Box Score FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College jumped out to a three-goal lead in the opening 43 minutes and held on for a 3-1 victory over visiting Mount Aloysius.
The Blazers' first goal came in the 14th minute. Chris Sloan (Frederick, Md. / Gov. Thomas Johnson) dropped a free kick from midfield into the box where Dain Polyniak (Brunswick, Md. / Brunswick) headed it in for a 1-0 advantage.
In the 31st minute, Colin Viti (Thurmont, Md. / Catoctin) played a through ball to Kenton Onspaugh (Ijamsville, Md. / Oakdale) and the freshman drilled it home for his first collegiate score.
Ryan Tutzauer (Toms River, N.J. / Toms River North) found the rebound of a Daniel Battle (Parkton, Md. / Hereford) shot and put Hood ahead 3-0 at 42:44.
The lead stood until deep into the second half when Aubrey Brown scored off a rebound of a Trevor Smith shot in the 82nd minute.
Hood pelted the Mounties with shots, holding a 23-10 advantage.
Ryan Deuber (Timonium, Md. / Dulaney) had six saves in net for the Blazers. Mike Chiaravalloti was credited with five saves in the first half for Mount Aloysius, while Justin Hann stopped seven shots in the second half.
The win stretched Hood's win streak to three straight, its longest since taking four consecutive decision in 2010.
The Blazers will search for their fourth straight victory on Saturday, September 20 at Rosemont.
