FREDERICK, Md. - Two first half goals were enough to extend the Hood College field hockey team's win streak to seven in a row with a 2-1 win over Goucher.

How it Happened
Just four minutes into the action, Hood was a awarded a penalty corner and Hackett finished off an assist from Butler for the early 1-0 lead.
The Blazers converted after earning another corner midway through the second quarter. Oberholtzer finished with help from Dillon at the end of the 24th minute to make it 2-0.
Hood survived a scare at the end of the half when Goucher earned three penalty corners in the final 1.4 seconds. Brown saved a shot on the first and Moreno made a defensive save on the next before the Blazers finally cleared the ball to end the half.
The Gophers broke through in the 35th minute when Rylie Belauskas scored off an assist by Katilyn Bucci, cutting Hood lead in half.
Brown turned away Goucher's Isa Schenk early in the fourth quarter and the Blazers did not allow another shot over the final 12 minutes.
Analysis
Hood held a 29-13 shot advantage and 16-9 on penalty corners.
Notes
The seven-game win streak is the longest on record for the Blazers and gives them seven wins on the year, the most since going 7-11 in 2014.
Hood ended the evening 7-2, while Goucher dipped to 6-2.
