CHESTER, Pa. – The field hockey squad held on to a one goal lead into the second half before allowing three unanswered goal to fall in conference play to Widener 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Emma Massey's (Felton, Del./Lake Forest) goal had broken the program record for goals in a season by a first year student.

How it Happened
The second Hood possession started with a pass to midfield to Hackett who took it almost to the arc before finding Massey to finish the job when she juked out a goalkeeper who had fallen over and scored the game's first goal.
Three quarters had ended and four minutes into the had passed before a shift in the match happened. A penalty corner for the Pride resulted in a shot point blank and past the keeper to knot the game up.
Not even a minute later, Widener struck again with a breakaway resulting in another goal for the Pride to shock the Blazers and take the 2-1 lead.
To slam the door, Widener's Julia Sanchez would take their possession to goal and score unassisted.
For the Opponent
Makenzie Adamson put up six shots along with an assist and a goal on the day.
Abby Blake made three saves and had a clean slate after surrendering the first goal.
Notes
Hood falls to 9-7, 2-3 in conference play.
Widener is lifted to 6-9, 2-3 in conference play.
Hood sits right outside of postseason play with four 10-plus win teams in Messiah, Stevenson, York Pa. and Alvernia ahead of them.
