CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Hood College did not have an answer for Washington College's attack, falling 7-0 in a non-conference matchup.
Inside the Box Score
Ashley Stine (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) made five saves while
Hannah Loughry (Odenton Md./Arundel Senior) saved three shots in relief.
How it Happened
Hood was put on the defensive right away but were able to keep Washington College's offense out of harm's way mostly, with the first shot on goal not coming until 12 minutes in. The onslaught from the Shorewomen did not stop though, with the home team eventually finding the back of the net 24 minutes in to make it a 1-0 game. The Blazers would come alive for a bit afterwards, testing goalkeeper Rylee Louden just a few minutes later, but the equalizer was still missing when the halftime buzzer sounded.
The second half started much differently than the first, with Washington College taking less than two minutes to double their lead.
Unfortunately for Hood's comeback thoughts, the Shorewomen would hang four more goals on the board in just over seven minutes to firmly put the game away, adding one more goal in the 72nd minute to round out the scoring in the match.
For the Opponent
Maddy Gaydon scored four goals in the match.
Gina Phillips added two tallies for Washington College.
