Amy Kaufman MacLeod is a 2008 graduate of Hood with a major in economics and a minor in math. She later earned her master of business administration in 2011 from Hood.

At the end of her swimming career, she left behind five individual event records of her own and five relay event record. After 11 seasons, her individual record time in the 1000-yard freestyle race of 11:02.52, which was set in February of 2005, has yet to be broken. The female swimmer was named the AWCC Most Outstanding Swimmer her freshman year and then went on to win four individual AWCC titles her sophomore season. She took home Co-Capital Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week twice, as well as qualifying for three individual events her senior year at the CAC Championship meet.

Kaufman was the Hood College Most Outstanding Female Student-Athlete as a senior.
