Hood College

Kearney graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English. She continued her education at Hood and earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. Kearney was a three-sport athlete competing in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse. She served as captain of the field hockey and lacrosse teams and was selected to the all-conference first team in lacrosse. While at Hood, she initiated the first campus-wide Hood Olympics to promote athletics to the Hood community. Kearney went on to coach the 2003 Maryland State Champions and 2005 state finalist in field hockey at Springbrook High School in Silver Spring, Md., where she is currently teaching English.
