Laura Pitts is a 2006 graduate of Hood College with a bachelor of arts degree in communication arts and a concentration in journalism.

Pitts was a standout on both the women's soccer and women's lacrosse teams. On the soccer pitch, she is the Blazers' career leader in points and goals. Her 168 points were more than three times as many as the previous record and she still holds the mark by over 60 points as of the conclusion of the 2014 season. Pitts scored 78 career goals, over 50 more than the previous record and is just one of two players in Hood history with 40 or more scores in her career. She scored over 20 goals in a season twice, the only player in the Hood record book to score at least 20 in a season. Her 45 points as a senior are eclipsed only by the 54 scored by Pitts as a junior. She twice tied the Hood record with eight points in a match and is responsible for 10 of the 19 hat tricks in school history, including three games in which she scored four goals.

In lacrosse, she set a school record (since broken) with 88 career points. She still ranks seventh in points and goals (74). Her 35 goals in 2004 are the third best season at Hood. She tied a school record with six caused turnovers against Chestnut Hill in 2006.

She was named All-Atlantic Women's Collegiate Conference four times in women's soccer and three times in women's lacrosse. She was named the AWCC Most Outstanding Player in women's soccer as both a junior and a senior.
