Cheryl Banks graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and history and a minor in African American studies in 2006. A three-sport athlete, she earned four letters in field hockey, three in lacrosse and one in basketball. Banks experienced a great deal of success as both a goalkeeper for the field hockey team and a midfielder on the lacrosse team. She was a first team all-Atlantic Women’s Colleges Conference selection all three years in lacrosse and all four years in field hockey. She capped her senior field hockey in grand fashion by leading the Blazers to the AWCC tournament championship and claiming the most outstanding player award. Banks racked up 874 saves in 59 games in the cage, which is good for ninth-best all-time in all of NCAA Division III.  On the lacrosse pitch, Banks finished her three-year career with 76 goals and 27 assists for 103 points, which ranks her sixth all-time at Hood. She also owns three of the top four single-season marks on Hood’s ground ball chart and was ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division III in ground balls as a junior. A former work study student in the Hood athletic department, Banks currently resides in Baltimore and continues to serve her alma mater as the assistant director of admission while pursuing a master’s degree in business administration.
