Connie graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She attended the University of Maryland for two years and then transferred to St. Mary’s College in Minnesota, where she earned a master’s degree in education. While at Hood, Connie was a four-sport athlete in field hockey, basketball, lacrosse and swimming. She served as the Hood representative to the National Athletic Conference when Hood first entered the NCAA. Connie has been recognized by players and coaches as instrumental in the foundation of athletics at Hood because of her outstanding skill, game sense and competitive nature. After college Connie continued to compete at the national level in field hockey until 1977. She established a career as a math teacher and coached field hockey, basketball, cross country and track in Wisconsin and was the head volleyball coach at the University of Maryland from 1970-1971. Today Connie competes on an international level in cross country skiing and inline skating. She represents Hood athletics now with the same drive and passion for winning that she created at Hood.
